Primary Function: Provides oversight for planning and scheduling manufacturing activities that allow our company to meet the needs of the market. Determine staffing levels to ensure maximum production within budgetary constraints. Schedules specific tasks performed in the production cycle considering material availability, resource availability and knowledge of future demand. Maintains close contact with production, maintenance, and quality management personnel to ensure that our facility and team are producing products at a highly efficient rate. Maintains close contact with purchasing and warehousing to schedule deliveries and pickups of materials and products, making sure the delivery process does not interfere with other operations. Writes and delivers weekly reports to senior management containing data that may be used for comparison and analysis.

Production Planner / Scheduler 50%

  • Performs production scheduling for the technical aspects of scheduling materials, manpower and machines in a production organization.
  • Prepares and distributes daily, weekly, and monthly schedules and work orders for product lines, sampling and/or departments.
  • Communicates regularly with purchasing, production staff, QA, and R&D to adjust schedules to accommodate changes in machine or material availability or staffing.
  • Compiles and records production data to prepare records and reports on volume of production, consumption of raw material, quality control and other aspects of production.
  • Compiles and records data from customer orders, work tickets, product specifications and individual worker production sheets.
  • Calculates such factors as types and quantities of items produced, materials used, and amount of scrap, frequency of defects and worker and department production rates.
  • Coordinates with Engineering equipment maintenance, repair, or replacement for production process.
  • Assists Quality Assurance to implement tracking and quality control systems to ensure proper production methods are used and manufactured products are up to specified standards.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives in the end-to end planning, scheduling, and production process.

Inventory Control / Cycle Count 25%

  • Counts raw materials in stock and posts totals to inventory records.
  • Resolves differences by locating product or isolating errors in records.
  • Generates reports on inventory balance and shortages.
  • Follows established procedures to reconcile records and data bases

Warehouse Leadership 25%

  • Manages all warehouse related work including shipping, receiving, warehouse/delivery truck maintenance.
  • Directs and manages daily activity of warehouse employees.
  • Trains warehouse employees on safety and operational practices and expectations.
  • Drives continuous improvement initiatives within warehouse operations.

Level of Supervision Responsibility:

Position manages employees assigned to the Warehouse.


  • Works under limited supervision and has significant responsibility for efficiency of operations
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or a related field preferred
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office and warehouse specific applications.
  • Attention to detail
  • Self-starter, motivated, multi-tasker that can effectively trouble shoot
  • Must possess strong leadership and supervisory skills
  • 3+ years of production, inventory management, cycle counting, and warehouse leadership experience preferred
  • Experience in continuous improvement methodology; including LEAN

Physical Activities:

Requires use of standard office tools and equipment. Occasional lifting of 10 30 pounds. Squatting, bending, or reaching over shoulders only required as it relates to filing. Works indoors in an office and production setting with normal temperature and humidity.
